Mazes and Mythology: A Legendary Fall Adventure
Spark your kids’ imagination with the thrilling ancient Greek tale of the Minotaur’s Labyrinth - perfect for setting the Halloween mood:
On the island of Crete, King Minos hid a monster, the Minotaur, half-man, half-bull, in a dark, twisting labyrinth. Every year, seven boys and seven girls from Athens were forced into the maze, where the monster’s roars echoed.
Each year, the youngsters never returned.
One day, a hero named Theseus vowed to face the beast to save the children. Ariadne, Minos’s kind daughter, gave him a glowing red thread to find his way through. In the maze with its dark walls, he sought the monster alone.
Theseus encountered the snarling Minotaur as it attacked our hero with its double-bladed axe! The Greek warrior let the beast charge. As it got in reach, he slew it with his sword!
Using Ariadne’s glowing thread, he found his way back out of the maze, and no children were forced into the labyrinth ever again.
It’s a chilling tale that brings the spirit of fall to life.
